Korean War 1950 - 1953
17,000 Australians served in Korea. 339 were killed and 1,215 wounded. The Korean War is often described as 'The 'Forgotten War'. It is estimated that four million people died in this war.
58 women veterans served in Korea: 34 were health professionals serving in the Army, 21 were Air Force nurses, and three were members of the Australian Red Cross. June 25, 2010, is the 60th anniversay of the beginning of the war.
